This is the basic skills course to further your own personal
development. It offers ways of Listening to God
that may be new to you. It gives a perspective on
Listening to Yourself that you may not have
considered before. It teaches a way of
Listening to Others that is startling in its
simplicity, and amazing in its effectiveness, furthering courtesy, understanding
and healing. I firmly believe it is a ‘must’ for everyone at the right time, and
if it is the right time for you, you will be most welcome to join us.

The skills outlined in Acorn Christian Foundation’s Literature are a fundamental addition to all aspects of life in our families, churches, workplaces, social lives, because it starts with basic courtesy and respect. This is built on at every level of the training, encompassing our attitudes to each other, ourselves and God. From a casual word as our paths cross with folk, to arranged appointments when someone asks for help; and everything in between: - at every level, differing elements and depths of healing can be experienced, as the people we meet feel valued and affirmed by the time and attention they receive. At Salisbury Methodist Church we have a vision of the effects of this
ministry, and for 2 years have been steadily preparing.
During that time more than 30 people have received basic training here,
and four have done the advanced and tutor training.
Others are waiting for the courses scheduled for 2004. We are encouraged
by the benefits and changes that are already being appreciated in individual
lives and the corporate life of the Church Family. Opportunities have been researched for the trained listeners to have a
choice of options as they feel led: 1
Solely for personal development & use within their existing
environment of home, work & service. 2
Informal Listening in specified outreach projects 3
Formal Listening Sessions in a planned Listening Centre at SMC,
local GP surgeries and referrals from other agencies
4
