WATERCOLOR #6

ASBURY EXPLORES A CAVE, AND SINGS A HYMN

In a cave with "lofty chambers, basaltic pillars, and stalactites resembling the pipes of an organ,"
Asbury sang a hymn, and found "the sound was wonderful."
He writes: "I came away filled with wonder, humble praise, and adoration."
Always on the watch for God's creativity, he believed that God watched too, and records "an example of the watchful care of God over his people.
Mr. Peddicord could not sleep, though he tried again and again.
At last, obliged to rise, he went downstairs . . . and found the house on fire."
