Sunrise Promise at Summer Camp 2007

Foxlease nr Lyndhurst

This year because it was the Centenary Year we decided to camp as a Group and pick the dates to cover the Sunrise Promise on 1st August there were 14 Cubs and 12 Scouts camping for the week 28th July to 5th August.

On 31st July at 7pm we were joined by 6 Beavers and 2 more Cubs for a sleep over, so that they could join us for the Sunrise Promise.

We were able to do this because there was a cabin on our site that the Beavers could use to sleep in. We were joined at 7.45am by our Guiding Friends from a Sheffield District who were camping next to us, also some of the Camp Site staff joined in.

We had a great time during the day with the Beavers playing Crazy Games, learning Circus Skills, Pond Dipping, and Orienteering. After our Barbeque in the evening we sang Camp Fire songs while we waited for the Beaver’s parents to collect.

We had great weather all week and had a great time.

Some of the other things that we got up to are shown in the pictures below.

Richard and Paul pretending to be
monkeys on the high ropes course!

Trusting your mates on the Low Ropes course.

A very tidy site!                                         A motley Crew!

Pond dipping for monsters!                         Not a monster!

Robin Hood? Maybe not, But they all did really well!

Coming Down!                                            Going Up!
